Meet Michelle
I was raised in Northern Ontario and now live on Vancouver Island, where I write about why capable people build lives that look right and what it takes to admit when they don’t feel right.
After stepping away from a marriage, a career, and a version of success that was “good on paper,” I chose to rebuild a life grounded in autonomy and honest reflection. That tension now shapes everything I write.
I am the author of Feels Like Home and am currently working on my second book.
My work explores how we weigh safety, belonging, and identity against our internal sense of rightness and what it truly costs to choose one over the other.
I live in the Comox Valley with my husband, Kurt, and our two dogs, Diamond and Ruby.
*Think of my writing as Carrie Bradshaw, if she left the city and traded martinis for croissants. Less nightlife, more forests. Fewer cigarettes, more books. I loved her voice, it was observant, reflective, and honest. I just happen to write from a quieter place.
